S1
Who am I? – An introduction to RMPS, considering how we understand the universe, existence and our place in the world with religious and non-religious beliefs.
What is real? – How can we believe that anything is real, evidence based faith.
What is God?- A look at the nature of God with worldviews such as theism, monotheism, polytheism, agnosticism, atheism.
Christianity- A detailed and in depth learning of Christianity. This includes Genesis, Jesus, Christian morality, Christian music, the Bible and other themes.

Human injustice- Starting with Martin Luther King and racism, and later learning about sectarianism, anti-Semitism, homophobia and transphobia LGBTQ+.
Islam- A detailed study of the religion Islam covering the five pillars, Muslims beliefs, Muslims in Scotland and the UK.
S3
Investigating religion and belief- A chance for pupils to develop their research skills and identify an area of religious belief to study in connection with moral and philosophical issues.
Values in Action- This is combined with the YPI exercise taking place in UPS and is part of the religion belief and values award Level 4
Medical ethics – Abortion, embryo research.
S4
Medical ethics- Euthanasia.
Investigating religion and belief with a Scottish context – As part of the Level 5 Scottish studies award.
Values In action- Completing the religion beliefs and values award at level 5, young people research the rights of the child and present to other pupils about the importance of the rights of the child.
Senior Phase
RMPS is available to study at National 3,4 and 5 in the senior stage. Higher RMPS is also available in S5/6. All young people by attending RMPS in S3 and S4 will have the opportunity to pass the religion beliefs and values award at levels 4 and 5. In S4 core, RMPS contributes one of the unit for the level 5 Scottish studies award.
