As part of their S3 Geography course pupils were introduced to the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development through an interactive workshop with the Development Education Centre. We were learning about the aims of the Global Goals, about some examples from around the world, and putting our problem solving and communication skills to test to design and make working windmills to hoist a (paper) bucket of water. This challenge was based on an actual example from a school boy in Tanzania.
