The new S1 pupils came to SHS for an outdoors day in June as part of their transition from P7. As we were blessed with fine weather there was no need for the tepee, but there was a need for water, suncream and hats! Pupils learned about team work and problem solving skills to build a shelter for their lego people, and to heat water in the Kelly kettles for hot chocolate, tea or coffee (for staff too!). As a wee treat they were also using the fires to melt marshmallows and make smores to accompany their hot drinks – these were very tasty.
